The inner part of the case, made from soft rubber, is a great shock absorber that gives good protection against drops. It covers as much of the phone as possible without obstructing the screen, and the flaps allow access to all of the ports (charging, syncing, headphone, etc.) that you need. The hard plastic, outer case has the added benefit of keeping the phone from sticking to the inside of the pocket when I try to take it out (a problem with only soft-rubber cases). The cases stays snug and secure, and so far the phone hasn't gotten too dirty with it. Complete with screen protector, the double external soft rubber and hard plastic combo really feels substantial on the outside of the phone. No issues with power or other connections (and if you don't like the port covers, you can easily trim them away with a pair of scissors). Have unfortunately dropped phone several times, but no damage, and the quality of the protection of the otterbox really shines through. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants good cover for the driod x2. Other reviews told me Otterbox is the brand. Great product. Inner rubber sleeve to protect from shocks and a plastic shell over that in case of of greater contacts. Kit also comes with a screen protector that has easy alignment lines so it goes on square and peel-off facing on the top and bottom to keep it clean as you install it. I drive a lot and like to put the phone on the center console. Face up, the plastic case is slippery and the phone disappears to the floor as I turn. Face down, the edges of the rubber cover stick like glue and the phone is exactly where I placed it as I leave the vehicle. One drawback I found is the rubber flaps that cover the USB/HDML, and ear bud jack holes don't stay tucked in. The nubs for the holes are not long enough or the right shape to stay in place well.
